WHO IS GIFTED?
The students who attend Kids College courses are diverse in many ways, and are all eager learners. We find the students motivated and happy to explore topics that are challenging. We believe it is important to allow these children a chance to come together with peers, not just age-mates, to realize that there are other children with similar interests and abilities.
Personality traits of these students often include creativity, persistence, dominance, curiosity, intuition, high energy, and intense emotions.
You may notice some of the following traits in your child:
Displays a great deal of curiosity about many things, and is constantly asking questions about anything and everything.
Has an unusually advanced vocabulary for age and grade level.
Possesses a large storehouse of information about several topics.
Generates a large number of ideas or solutions to problems and questions.
Expresses a wide range of interests.
Asks many questions about topics in which young children do not ordinarily have an interest.
Has keen observational skills and retains information easily.
Conducts intelligent conversations with older children and adults.
Has the ability to attend or concentrate for a longer period of time than other children of the same age.
If your child has some or all of these traits he/she
should be considered a candidate for Kids College.
WHO ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS?
Kids College hires teachers and/or experts in a particular field to offer hands-on courses in many different subject areas. Would you like to be able to access a brief biography of our instructors? WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION CARD?
After the registration deadline, we have a volunteer who will send confirmation cards. Please be patient. If the deadline has past and you still have not heard from us, let us know. Perhaps we did not receive your registration
CAN MY CHILD SIGN-UP FOR A CLASS IF THEY ARE NOT CURRENTLY IN THE SPECIFIED GRADE?
Our teachers have carefully chosen the grade level for which they are offering the class. Fine motor skills or social skills are also needed for some of our courses. Keep in mind that all the participants in the workshop will be working above grade level.
WHY DON'T YOU ADVERTISE?
Because of the high cost of advertising, Kids College has chosen to spend money offering scholarships and challenging experiences for your children. Many schools have newsletters that reach all students. If you are able to spread the word about Kids College in this way, please contact us, info@kidscollege.org
HOW IS KIDS COLLEGE FUNDED?
Kids College is a non-profit organization. The money that is collected from your child's tuition pays for the teachers salaries, campus rental, insurance, brochure printing, postage, and the many other hidden costs of running an organization. This organization would not be successful without the many countless hours offered to us by our volunteers.
