o Intensely curious?
o Excellent at remembering things?
o Deeply interested in his or her activities?
o Able to see relationships in different ideas or concepts?
o Focused and alert?
o Capable of learning quickly without a lot of repetition?
o Skilled in reasoning through problems?
o Outstanding in original thinking?

Because gifted children tend to come from families where this trait is common, some parents might overlook some of this behavior and see it as perfectly normal or even average. It is important to make sure that you pay attention to your child’s behaviors and abilities. This way you will be better able to provide him or her with the educational tools and mental stimulation that he or she requires.

Because gifted children are often considered to be special needs children, this means that they will mostly likely need unique education that can address both their intellectual and emotional needs. And just like any special needs children, gifted children who do not receive the proper education may be at risk of not reaching their full potential.
